St Helens, Merseyside
Competitive Salary Benefits

Our client is a market leader in food packaging and is committed to world class operations.

This role is responsible for the day to day HSHE support and monitoring at their St Helens Manufacturing site and also forms part of a small administrative team. Reporting to the Business Support Manager, the post holder will be involved in assisting with all aspects of Health, Safety, Hygiene & Environmental (HSHE) management on site. This involves the routine audits/inspection, maintenance of information systems and carrying out various risk assessments, whilst also ensuring the safe and effective compliance to these policies.

Job Description:
The post holder will also monitor/co-ordinate cleaning/hygiene operations on site by contract agency personnel. The role is key in supporting aspects of the Business Support Manager’s responsibility and the candidate must be willing and able to assist in other areas (e.g. quality, ISO 9001, and delivery of training in related subjects. In addition, several key ‘support’ tasks will be provided to other managers within the site. Liaison internally and with their worldwide operations will be a key aspect of the role, therefore excellent communication skills are essential. Attention to detail and high standards of organisational skills are also required in this role.

Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a good general level of education (‘A’ Levels or equivalent) and a working knowledge of PC packages, essentially MS Office. A NEBOSH certificate or experience of working with Health & Safety procedures/systems in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage, but not essential. The role would suit someone who wishes to develop within Health & Safety practice, or from a facilities background who craves for a more empowered workload and wants to get involved. The successful candidate will be robust and expected to challenge non-compliance. There is also an element of self-motivation required in this role and as the position will be based mainly within the manufacturing area, it would not be suitable for an individual who is seeking a purely administrative type position. Successful applicants will be given training in the operations, systems and World Class techniques that will improve the business. Opportunities for future progression are available to successful candidates with the necessary drive and capability. networx is not a typical agency. We handle applications on behalf of our clients. After applying for this role you will be sent an email that it is essential you read in order to complete your application.
